Planning Your Group Visit

We are open daily, with live performance tours departing every 30 minutes between 10:15 AM and 6:00 PM (last tour at 5:15 PM). To ensure a personalised experience for your group, we recommend booking in advance. Please contact us to discuss your group’s needs, and we’ll tailor the tour accordingly.

Good to know 

• Accessibility – We offer relaxed tours daily and have an accessibility guide available.

• Family-Friendly – Our tours are suitable for all ages; please inform us if anyone in your group has specific concerns.

• Guides go free – Tour guides and drivers are free of charge (two per group).

• Tour capacity – for larger groups of 25 or more we would need to split the group down although can rotate groups between the two parts of the tour so that everyone can start and finish at the same time.

Seasonal Experiences 

Throughout the year we run our top-rated crime and punishment performance tour. This is a 30 minute performance tour of the Jail followed by a chance to explore the cells and visitor our observation tower. For larger groups we can provide a guide for the second half of the experience to ensure your group is guided throughout the experience.

Our live performance tours depart every 30mins 14 times each day – providing an entertaining insight into the history of crime and punishment in Scotland.

Jailhouse Horrors

During October our tour takes a darker turn with our Jailhouse Horrors performance tour, also running every 30mins daily this tour provides a slightly darker insight into the early treatment of prisoners in Stirling.

Crime & Cask Whisky Tasting Tour

Our new immersive winter experience includes a performance tour incorporating the dark and colourful history of whisky distilling in Scotland followed by the chance to sneak into our debtors room for a sneaky taste of three drams and a toast. Exclusive to the travel trade. We can also package with Stirling Castle admission on the day.
