We’re committed to seeking advice and expertise from relevant bodies to ensure that we’re doing everything we can to create the best experience for you.
We’re always looking to improve and increase our awareness within the Old Town Jail. So why not come and visit us for a welcoming and inclusive experience.
We’ve been touring for the last 4 weeks, and this was, hands down, the finest tour we’ve taken. Another reason to go to Stirling!
Our self-guided relaxed tours run at 1.15pm daily – we will have the internal lights on a neutral setting and there will be no ambient audio. As you explore you can use a handset (or download the free app) to learn more about the history of the Jail. Visit the cells on the ground floor before heading to the Exercise Yard which is of course located – yes, you guessed it – on the roof. From here you will continue to our observation tower for breath-taking views of the Old Town, Ochils, Trossachs… on a clear day you can see as far as Edinburgh’s Forth Road Bridges!
The whole experience lasts between 45 and 90 minutes and is popular with all ages. You can find out more about our accessibility here.
